2014 /15 Season Previews

Welcome to the annual pre season predictions from our expert panel of fantasy football gurus. We are also revealing the new look 5 year anniversary club crests designed and created as ever by Brad. Awesome work pal!

Last season saw three new winners with the Dogbots, Toffees and, unbelievably, BareAssAlona all walking off into the sunset with trophies full of prize money stuffed under their arms.

This only goes to show that with a little bit of consistent application, success is possible because as PNE, Everton and Latics fans respectively it is clear none of last seasons victors know the least bit about football!!

This year we have 26 teams entered with a mix of familiar faces and a few new ones to boot.

So without further ado here we have this years run down on the runners and riders for this years trophies.

2014/15 Season new look

We are now into our second gameweek of the new BeerandBoobs Fantasy Football season.

Not only does this seasons previews coincide with the unveiling of our new look website but also the fantastic re design of the club logos to celebrate the end of our fifth season. As you know our artist in residence loves a new challenge and this year Brad has outdone himself by not only designing a logo for the new teams but also restyling all of the existing teams to give their logo a stylish modern feel.

We think the new look is awesome. Look out for your team logo in the previews to follow.

BeerandBoobs 2013 Fantasy Cup Preliminary Draw

Last weekend saw the draw for the preliminary draw of the 2013 BeerandBoobs Fantasy Cup.

The shock of the draw was that Spiros and his Dwarfs were NOT drawn out after accusing the independent and totally impartial draw machine of being biased towards Untied due to their managers association with the league. Really Spiros, you should learn to keep your petty accusations to yourself.

As ever the draw did throw out some big sides with the previously mentioned Untied, the Dragons and Real SociableDad all having to make an early appearance in order to progress.

The draw in full was as follows.

Phatasphuck FC

v

Garbonzo FC

BareAssAlona

v

Coops Troops

Fortuna Brusselsprout

v

United by Fear

Angry Dragons

v

BEGD FC

Dyslexic Untied

v

AC Corona

Real SociableDad

v

Killer Whippet Dogbots

Two of the league rookie teams also get their first taste of cup football with Garbonzo FC and Killer Whippet Dogbots drawn in the first and final round of the draw respectively and both will have to overcome one of the founding members of the competition in the Phatties and Real.

Once again luck shined on last years winners Italian Job as they can can concentrate on their league game as can league leaders Steaua who seem to be enjoying themselves once again at the top of the table.

The games will be played over gameweek 23 (next weekend)

Good Luck all

Who will be the winners and the losers this season.

With a number of teams starting like a house on fire this season we wondered if the famed “big five” of Angry Dragons, Dyslexic Untied, Spiros and the ArgoDwarves, Steaua Needarest and the Kirali Girls might be challenged this year with a team from outside the usual group of teams which seem to perenially challenge for honours.

Will Phatasphuck FC manage to sustain their blistering pace? Are they just a flash in the pan? Have the Italian Job or BEGD FC finally got their act together? Will one of the noobs like the Mudhut Maniacs, Rusty Browns or United by Fear take the league by storm?

In addition to this we wondered whther you thought the usual suspects would also be at the bottom of the table come May. So seeing as we are now 6 weeks into the new season we wondered what your opinions were as to who the winners and losers of the league were going to be this year.

The first Poll asks who you think will take the ultimate Play Off prize and become BeerandBoobs Champions 2012. Will the final once again be contested by one of the big five like last year when Steaua Needarest took Dyslexic Untied by surprise?

Click on your “winner” below and let’s see who you think will win. In the interest of fairness we have included every one of the 24 teams so as not to exclude anyone.

Secondly a poll to ask you who you think will come flat last and suffer the fate of being relegated at the end of the year. Again in the interests of fairness I have only included the likeliest teams.

The World has surely gone mad!!

Something is wrong.

Not something particularly terrible but more subtly wrong.

If you haven’t felt it I suggest you take a closer look at the league table.

The first thing you see is the Phatties at the top. At the top!! WTF! How on earthe did we all allow that to happen? Not only is Mr Rudd top he is also unbeaten. This tells me that he is either on the luckiest streak of his life or that his retirement from Golf has allowed him the time on a Saturday morning to pay some attention to his line ups. Either way Untied manager Brewder is hoping someone comes along to knock him off as his smirking face is putting him off his Friday night kebab.

The next two places below them also make one raise an eyebrow. Real occupy 2nd place despite their manager standing accused of offering sexual favours to potential new signings in the transfer window (see last blog post) and in third place we find BEGD FC!!! This is a team who perenially challenge BareAssAlona for bottom spot. Most of us would not begrudge their Manager Brad his time in the top eight as no one puts as much effort into their team that him but can he win it? the general consensus is no and his time in the top half will be limited so he should enjoy it while he can.

Completing the “odd squad” is Italian Job. Mangaed by a man of such principle and prejudice that he refuses to sign any player from Chelsea/Manchester City/Wales that he denies himself the opportunity to maxise his chances of gaining a high score each week. looking at his previous opponents so far this year it is not really surprising that they are where they are as they have had a very easy start to the season so far.

1 Phatasphuck F 5 0 0 279 15
2 Real Sociable Dad 4 0 1 321 12
3 BEGD FC 4 0 1 291 12
4 Coops’ Troops 4 0 1 283 12
5 New Springs 69ers 4 0 1 265 12
6 Spiros&theArgoDwarfs 4 0 1 241 12
7 Kirali Girls 3 1 1 264 10
8 Italian Job 3 0 2 293 9

It is of course no surprise to see the Dwarfs and the Girls showing strongly but the top eight has some noticeable ommisions. None of last years winners, Steaua NeedaRest (11th) or the Angry Dragons (17th) have started well and everyone’s favourite Dyslexic Untied have suffered defeats to the highest scoring team in three individual weeks despite scoring well themselves.

It is of course early in the season and normality will surely be restored soon (Even BareAssaolona are out of the relegation places!)

Gameweek 7 starts tomorrow and then a reminder that Gameweek 8 is the first of this years bonus rounds. The highest scoring team in Gameweek 8 will win £10 (or effectively their entry fee back provided they have paid).

Good Luck everyone.

Death of the Dolls and Time called on the Tits

** BREAKING NEWS *** BREAKING NEWS *** BREAKING NEWS **

The League has today received confirmation that neither the Raggy Dolls nor Tinkerbelle’s Tit’s will be applying for entry into the BeerandBoobs 2011/12 competition.

Sadly we will be without one of the most competitive teams over the last two years in the Dolls and also one of the teams we all looked forward to playing because it meant an almost guaranteed 3 points in the Tits.

Tits manager Johnson has finally admitted defeat in her quest to mix it with the big boys (and Spiros) in the most competitive Fantasy Football League in the world. It will come as no surprise to those that played against her last season that she has thrown in the towel after her, quite frankly, feeble efforts at fantasy management were cruelly exposed by more capable and experienced managers She has instead bequeathed her franchise to husband Neil who will enter the Tits under a new club identity which has yet to be submitted. Let’s hope he has more idea than his misguided and deluded missus!

The absence of the Dolls however will be a big shock to some as they proved more than worthy of their place in the competition with a play off place earned two years ago and despite manager Elaine Hallam losing interest half way through the season last year they battled bravely on without her narrowly missing out on making the play offs again.

This does of course mean there is an opportunity for some new blood to take the opportunity to prove themselves against the best and the worst that the BeerandBoobs league has to offer. Already we have seen the entries of Torpedo Belgrano and the Rusty Browns managed by Andrew Gibson and Sean Parry and we are also aware of other impending new teams applying any day now.

It is shaping up to be another classic competition.
